Release, Relax, Unwind

My name is Jane and I am a Remedial Massage therapist. I graduated with a Diploma of Health Science (Massage therapy) in 2000. Since then, I have worked in the allied health industry in various settings treating all walks of life from everyday people to professional sports athletes and aspiring young ballet dancers.

My interest in Anatomy and Physiology stems back to my previous career as a professional classical ballet dancer. Having suffered several injuries, I was quite often seeking alternative treatment to keep me on the stage. Massage and Pilates has long been a part of my routine to maintain my overall health and well-being.

In 2004, I gained my Pilates qualifications and established Pilates for Life at The Junction, one of the first Pilates studios in Newcastle.
I love being able to draw on my knowledge of Pilates, stretching and massage to give my clients a holistic approach to their treatment.

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Education (Honours) at the University of Newcastle and teaching ballet to the next generation of ballerinas.

Outside work and study I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my 2 children, whom inspire me everyday.

"When you touch one thing with deep awareness,
 you touch everything.

If you are you experiencing acute discomfort in areas such as your back, shoulders or neck, then a remedial massage is ideal. Remedial massage will specifically target your problem area to relieve chronic tension, stiffness, and pain. Remedial massage can help relieve common ailments including sciatica, lower back pain, plantar fasciitis and frozen shoulder.

Needing a body overhaul? Suffering from sore and aching muscles? A deep tissue massage will help relieve muscle pain and stiffness anywhere from head to toe. Deep tissue massage techniques are used to break up scar tissue and physically break down muscle "knots" or adhesions that can disrupt circulation and cause pain, limited range of motion, and inflammation.

Feeling stressed? A relaxation massage will help to calm the body, mind and soul. By decreasing muscle tension, improving circulation, increasing endorphins and reducing stress, relaxation massage can effectively and naturally promote a good night's sleep, helping to increase mental clarity and alertness. The effect on the body is profound and measurable - a strategy worth adding to your self-care regime.
